What happens to adults with autism after they grow up? Depending on the severity of the autism; only 17% of the severe autistic population live on their own. However, for those formerly classified with Asperger's Syndrome; the future can seem brighter on the outside. But, on the inside, that individual continues to face a myriad of other problems. This is a person who looks neurotypical to others but goes through life with dysfunctional relationships and no evident social circle. This is an individual who faces difficulties at work. Autistic adults are often strangers in a strangeland as they cope withthe puzzle of not ever being able to interact properly in a social world.
